Welcome to the Bentonville Teachers Association (BTA) Website
We are not a union, and we are not affiliated with the NEA (National Education Association) in any form or fashion. Read below for more information about BTA, the Arkansas State Teachers Association, and the Association of American Educators. We are a part of the independent teachers association movement.

We have grown from 7 members to 170 members in approximately 3 years, and we are still growing very quickly. We have grown from 33 members to 170 members in about a year and a 7 months. See the "We want you" page to see some of the members in Bentonville by building who would like to encourage you to join. Check out the "Testimonials" page to see why school employees join this great organization.
Our last meeting was on Monday, September 24th. Just email info@teachbta.org if you would like a copy of the minutes. We discussed many issues related to education as well as answered many questions.
The Bentonville Teachers Association (BTA) is a local affiliate of the Arkansas State Teachers Association (ASTA) and of the Association of American Educators (AAE). These are non-union, independent, professional education associations offering many of the same benefits to teachers that labor unions provide - but at a fraction of the cost and without the partisan politics and controversial social issues. ASTA is the state affiliate of AAE. We are non-profit organizations dedicated to helping education in America. The dues are $150 per year. Payroll deduction is available in Bentonville for just $15 per paycheck for 5 months from October to February. The membership year is from August 1st to July 31st so that there is no lapse of coverage between pre-existing policies and memberships.
The next deadline for ASTA grants and scholarships is October 31st. We will give away up to $5,000. We will also give away $250 as a new teacher grant which had a deadline of September 30th.
After joining ASTA-AAE, you can voluntarily join BTA for $10 per year paid to the treasurer (Drew Osborn) or the president (Ronnie Flowers) anytime throughout the year. Preferably, BTA dues need to get paid at the end of the year.
Just email Ronnie if you want to know if you have paid your dues for BTA yet.
To join ASTA by paying the full amount at one time:
Get an application from a member or email us, and we can send/give you one.
- Fill out the application and put it in an envelope with your check.
- Give it to the person you know in ASTA, send it to Ronnie Flowers at BHS, or mail it to our address.
Just click on the names if you want to go directly to the websites of ASTA or AAE.
BTA's main purpose is to help Bentonville Staff, promote ASTA, and most of all, help education become the best that it can be in Bentonville. Let us know if we can help you. We have had great success at helping Bentonville so far.
